"Down the road from an uncertain tomorrow"
8 days until Terminal hits KS, special This is Your Lifepath in the works, havoc and worries
Hey hey! It’s Raturday! (That’s what I call any day of the week when I release a newsletter, even when it’s not Saturday, actually maybe it should be Raturkay or is a pun on top of a pun obscuring the foundations and weakening the joke? I should have more coffee)
We’re just eight days away from Terminal launching on Kickstarter. Written and designed by me, illustrated by Gormengeist and edited by Alyssa Ridley. It’s a digital pirate action game about facing the immense power of a system that hates you.
We hit 100 followers last Saturday so I revealed the cover (a day late as I was at London Trans Pride during the day).
I did a TikTok talking through the game:

I also made some Spotify playlists that captured my feelings on the game and used that as a pretence for a big deep dive preview over on Tumblr. The preview includes discussion on games core themes, characters and scenarios as well as a lot of juicy tasty art previews.
I’ve also been tweeting a lot about the project in the dying days of this social media (fascinatingly on brand for Terminal tbh).
This is Your Lifepath
I’ve recorded a special one-off episode of the podcast where we flipped the script on the format. My friend Zach Cox from SoulMuppet Publishing and RRD took on the host hot seat and interviewed me about Terminal. I’m editing this episode today and it’ll be in the podcast feed before you know it.
Solo Journaling
I’m thinking of taking an old project out of the mothballs. It was a solo journaling game through the works of Kassily about venturing into a liminal dreamscape. When I feel I’ve got less Terminal stuff to do I’d like to finish it off. It was half written before falling into disuse due to personal problems from around a year ago. Currently unnamed as I’m debating changing it’s current working title.
System Crash
I’m looking for a new job as my old one attempted to cut my wages. I’m also probably going to be looking for a new place to live as my landlord is trying to raise the rent by 300 quid. Both these searches at the same time are difficult, mentally, and I’m not exactly looking forward to trying to run a Kickstarter campaign at the same time as well.
The title of this newsletter is a line from Terminal. It’s about the mindset a lot of the pirates have. They all came of age in a world that never wanted them and that they could never belong to. It was probably informed by similar feelings I’ve had before, which struggles with housing and work can exacerbate.
I will survive. I’ve never managed to not survive so far. But still, I am very tired. Anyway if you hear of any freelance job for writing or layout keep me in mind.
There’ll be another email when we actually launch in 8 days!
I didn’t come here to tell how this ends, I came here to tell you how it’s going to begin.
