Welcome back, it's June, I'm 28, I've stuck to this newsletter for half a year and I'm ready to start shit.
This is a bits and bobs one this month but with some pretty exciting bits of news.
UKGE Reflections
Last weekend I did UK Games Expo up in Birmingham worming the SoulMuppet stall. I had with me some of my zines most of which sold out. I had a really nice weekend and turned 28 (the convention aged me, I was 27 when this all started) on the Sunday. It was exhausting and being honest I didn't do a good enough job of looking after myself. Something to think about for next time.
Thanks to SoulMuppet for having me with them, and everyone on the stall for the great company all weekend (I even enjoyed hanging with my hated rival Laurie O'Connel). Shout out to RRD for being welcoming stall neighbours. Shout to Alyssa and Chloe from Biscuit Fund Games for some lovely hang outs. And thank you to everyone who came by to visit the stall and chat games. Too many people to mention, for sure.
Buy Rat Wave Game House books from the SoulMuppet Store
I did my first actual print of some zines for UKGE and now stock is going up on the SoulMuppet webstore. Transgender Deathmatch Legend is up currently: https://soulmuppet-store.co.uk/products/transgender-deathmatch-legend
More to come including The Man We Knew, Old Gods & Young Guns plus Wild Duelist.
Terminal - Coming to Kickstarter
I've talked about Terminal previously in the newsletter and it's developing at an exciting pace.
It's a digital pirate action TTRPG. It's a hack of Inevitable. It's The Matrix x Black Sails. It's a game about shattering nightmares, taking back your life and crashing the world. Annnd it's coming to Kickstarter July 20th!
I was hoping the pre-launch page would be up and running but it may be another day. I'll drop a mini update when the time comes.
I've finished the first draft of the book and have sent it to the editor (Alyssa from Biscuit Fund is on board). I've also started getting amazing visuals from the artist (Gormengeist, the creator of Bubblegum Vampires and Nuclear Knights among other cool projects).
Here's a preview image I've posted on Twitter and Tumblr.
And for my loyal mailing list here's another sneak peak
.
Road to GenCon
Thanks to the DJA I have my travel and everything sorted for GenCon. I should probably buy a new suitcase because my Gexpo suitcase was the edge of too small. I should also start figuring out my plans while I'm there. I'm going to the awards ceremony. I'll be running some games of 30 Foes and Fear the Taste of Blood. Beyond that my dance card is open.
On that note I was interviewed by GenConTV's TableTakes and also did a demo of Transgender Deathmatch Legend for them. You can watch back here: https://m.twitch.tv/videos/1842110533
Other Conventions
I enjoy cons! This was the first one I'd worked and even though I need to be smarter in the future I'd like to do more. I'm cooking up some Dragonmeet plans (I'm going to put aside nemesiseness with 12 Pins Press and team up), but I'd also be interested in hitting up some smaller cons. If you live in the UK and know of smaller cons with space for a Rat Wave let me know what's up.
That's it for this month. I'll send out a mini update when the pre-launch for Terminal is live. I'm working in dusting off an old solo game idea so may have something to show for that too next month.
Until next time
