Transgender Deathmatch Legend

We've just launched Transgender Deathmatch Legend digitally and print-on-demand. Transgender Deathmatch Legend is hexcrawling beat-em-up for 2 players, using playing cards. You play a trans wrestler brawling their way across Slamchester to get the money they're owed.

Here's some of what people have been saying about the game:

“Transgender Deathmatch Legend is another quality game from The Dice, with excellent writing and layout. It is a queer hexcrawl beat-em-up RPG inspired by wrestling that is action packed and easy to learn. Would totally recommend!” - W.H. Arthur (The Sol Survivor, Superhero Cinematic Universe TTRPG)

"Bursting with flavor and genuine heart, Transgender Deathmatch Legend had me smiling and laughing all the way through the book. The Dice have put together a charming and evocative duet game that’s sure to get you itching to bust some heads." - Clove Fulminata, Vagabond Pen and Paper (Revenant World, Our Minerva, CHOKE.)

"TDL is a bloody, schlocky mess of jagged angles and sweaty crawling. It's as immediate as a light tube to the face and I can't wait to take it for a spin." - Taylor LaBresh, Riverhouse Games (This is a Game About Fishing, Break Up on Re-Entry, host of the Game Closet)

“A brutal, passionate love affair with the joy and rage of the squared circle. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so seen by a game before.” - Alyssa, Biscuit Fund Games (Goblin Country, Tournament Arc, Skirmish)

What's next?

Our most immediate next project is Fear the Taste of Blood, a three player, asymetric ttrpg of classic movie monsters. It's a hack of Beyond the Rift, via Anyone Can Wear the Mask; mimicking the feel of old Universal Pictures. Much of the writing of this game is actually finished; what's remaining is finished a scene setting in-fiction piece of writing and three pre-generated scenarios (which we're calling Horror Shows). It seems fairly likely this will release in April, unless we hit a big stumbling block.

We've got some decent progress with Jukebox Tarot, a GMless tarot based game for acting out musicals of your own making. We have the latest version of the core rules and some progress on playsets for the game. (The first playtest, for a game about young artists struggling to get by in a city, is the closest to the finish line). After that we'd want to move to playtesting, to see how the game holds up. We're considering this our big project for the year so are not placing a timeline on it currently. It's also something we're considering pitching to publishers when we have more to show.

What else is going down?

A plethora of riches released yesterday. Gem Room Games #indiehighlight thread had the most comprehensive overview I've seen so I'll link that here: https://twitter.com/GemRoomGames/status/1506386957324079107

That's all for now. This is kinda short on other general news but hopefully we'll make up for that next time.
